Two weeks agoexhibited at The Big Bolton Expo, and we had a great time.
The expo itself, which was run by the team at thebestofBolton (who we are proud members of) was excellent. Long before we even stepped through the doors of the venue we had nothing but support from Gaynor and her guys and gals.
Whilst it’s good to know someone is on hand to answer all your questions, and deal with any issues along the way, the best thing is knowing they’re taking it as seriously as you are. Marketing is always one of the biggest outlays any business will be involved with, and the proof is always in the pudding. An expo is no different.
No matter how busy, or quiet any event is, it can be hard to know what the ROI is likely to be, especially as many exhibitors don’t close deals there and then. However, an expo (or any networking event, for that matter) should never be seen in terms of the immediate impact.
We had the opportunity to make some brilliant new contacts, and to touch base with other businesses and individuals we have known for years. The speed networking was something even Carolyn found fascinating, despite the fact she is a highly seasoned networker with BforB. It’s always great to try something new, and it’s brilliant that this is being offered at such a busy and bustling event.
Personally I was impressed by the quality of the other businesses who attended – both as exhibitors and delegates. Everyone we spoke to was interested in having two-way conversations, and at no point did it feel like anyone was being sold to, which is really what it’s all about.
It was a great opportunity to get out and let people know we are looking for three opportunities at the moment:
- People that are coming to the end of their mobile phone contract – we can often help them save money by recommending a change in provider and/or tariff
- Businesses that are changing office location – we are on hand to ensure they will be able to access the right speeds so their productivity and efficiency is not impacted
- Those who want to advertise in areas which they are not based – our are ideal, offering you the opportunity of geo-specific numbers, without ever having to leave the safety of your one base
