During 2021 there have been significant changes to broadband products/packages taking place due to the latest Openreach FTTP Fibre Rollout Programme. These exciting changes affect certain services and will require many of our customers to upgrade from their existing broadband product, prior to switch off. If you are also planning to move premises, this may also affect you.
In June 2021, the first wave of exchanges came into effect in areas that have met the coverage criteria. These exchanges covered a footprint of around 1.2 million premises.
As of 2nd August 2021, a further 86 exchanges have been confirmed by Openreach, which means a Stop Sell will come into effect in these exchanges from 2nd August 2022 and no new WLR-based products will be available in these areas.
There are just over 380 areas in total that are affected across the UK. In the local Greater Manchester area these include, Wythenshawe, Failsworth, Walkden, Eccles, Swinton, Hulme Hall, Prestwich, Whitefield and Radcliffe.
The products that are affected by the changes are detailed below. If your business currently uses any of these products, then this is a great opportunity to switch over to a fantastic alternative, combined with additional benefits.
